It’s been a work in progress for a while now, but it’s finally available. The Explosion Productions Magazine features three Explosion Productions artists, and should end up being an excellent promotional tool for each of them. It’s available for print-on-demand order through Mag Cloud, which is a fantastic service. I highly recommend them, they have done fantastic work on this project.

I would also like to thank the photographers who shot each of the artists. Arpit Mehta did a fantastic job shooting Jesse West and Jonathan Stowers. Maxine Loustalot and Andrew Shinn both shot Travis Oberg with their own unique style. Without such fantastic photography to work with, this project would not have been the same.

-ShilohMidwifery.com Launch

ShilohMidwifery.com

I’m very excited to announce the launch of ShilohMidwifery.com! After months of work and planning between myself, and Lisa Showalter, the site is up and ready for your visit.

I’m particularly excited because of what a fantastic resource this will be for pregnant mothers to be, and the amount of work Lisa put into the content of the site really shows. Hopefully this will be an educational hub for homebirths in the Bay area and beyond.

If you are thinking about whether or not to build or redesign a website, let me know, and I’ll be happy to give you my honest opinion. If you are a business owner, and still do not have web-space, you are missing out on a market that is growing, not only literally, but figuratively into the collective conscious. When you are in need of a service or wondering about a shops operating hours, do you open the yellow pages, or click to Google? That’s where things have changed in the last 10 years, and why it’s important to put your name out there where people are looking for it.

Well, we made it just in time! Lisa had a birthing event that she needed business cards for, so we managed to get the logo together just in time to introduce her baby business to the world! Pun intended.

Lisa provided the color scheme and some loose art direction, and that helped to steer the whole project in the right direction. Her website, www.ShilohMidwifery.com is in development right now, so please feel free to check that out if you are looking for a midwife or doula in the Bay area.

-Final Logo

Surfing Alliance Final Logo

The logo for Surfing Alliance is finally finished, and I (for one) am very pleased with the results! Jesse was stoked on it, and I’ve heard very good remarks from the people who have seen it.

This will be a youth surf-club for Santa Cruz County, and is a great start in the right direction for providing support and community for the teens in Santa Cruz and the surrounding area. I was super stoked to be able to contribute to such a killer idea. (I won’t be teaching anyone how to surf anytime soon)

This is a logo for a friend who is starting a surf-club for non-adults in Santa Cruz County. Killer idea needs a killer logo!

Candy Font

This font has been in the works for a little while now. I’m almost finished with the first edition, and am excited about getting it out for others to use.

There are similar fonts out there conceptually, but I’ve tried to make the font more readable, color-consistent, and fun than some of the others I’ve seen.

This font will probably be free for non-commercial use. Let me know if you are interested, and I’ll e-mail you when it becomes available!

-Next Space

Next Space Logo
I’m hanging out at Next Space today, which is a killer, shared office-space in downtown Santa Cruz. It’s got a great atmosphere, and I really appreciate the chilled-out coffee house vibe. It’s a type of environment I like to work in!

I’m not a member. (yet)

Just a sneak peak at a business identity I am currently working on. Should be exciting, and Lisa (the owner) has been a wonderful person to work with.

-Explosion Productions…

Jesse West Jon Stowers Travis Oberg

Not long now until I will have finished a promotional magazine for some local singer-songwriters. Jesse West, Jon Stowers and Travis Oberg have each been interviewed for the magazine, and all I need to do now is do a final photo-shoot for the cover!

I was able to interview each of these guys personally, and contacted a few of the fantastic photographers that had caught them on film to really flesh out the material. I’m very please with how it’s turning out, but I’m anxious to finish it while it’s still current.

This is a great promotional tool for people looking to do something a little more informative than a brochure, and it’s a slick approach to legitimize your cause. Something about seeing an article and photo-shoot professionally laid out really gets a potential client or customers attention.
